Tingting Yao
Chinese-American pianist Tingting Yao is an avid collaborative pianist and
chamber musician based in Huntsville, Texas where she is the Staff Pianist at
Sam Houston State University. Prior to moving to Texas,she held the position
of the Staff Pianist at the University of Memphis-Rudi E. Scheidt School of
Music. Tingting was in demand as a collaborative pianist in Birmingham,
England and Shenzhen, China, where she worked as a piano teacher in Lang
Lang’s first piano school. Ms. Yao began piano studies at the age of three,
won regional and national competitions at seven, was accepted into the
primary school affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory at ten. Ms. Yao holds
degrees from the United Kingdom, Australia and China.
Amaro Dubois
Brazilian violist Amaro Dubois is the 2019-2021 viola fellow in the Iris
Orchestra Artist Fellowship program (IAF). Amaro earned his Bachelor’s
Degree in Violin Performance (with a specialty in chamber music) from the
Brazilian Conservatory of Music and his Master’s Degree in Viola
Performance from the University of Alabama. He has performed with the
Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra, the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra,
the Mobile Symphony Orchestra, the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra,
among others.
Duo
The Yao-Dubois Duo’s mission is to share compositions by underrepresented
composers, including African American, Latin American, and women composers.
